Dear People of Newtown, CT:

The past week, my school's choir became the first one to give a performance in the area (Bergen County, New Jersey) since the tragedy. Quite coincidentally, we had been rehearsing a song named "Prayers of the Children" since September for this concert. A debate arose about whether or not we should sing this song at the concert - some thought it was too sensitive a subject. Many, though, agreed that it was very appropriate, and we should sing this piece because of this tragedy. We, a choir with over 160 members, sang with all of our hearts, dedicated to "all those who are affected by violence." It was one of the most heartfelt concert I was a part of. 
I hope these prayers are heard.
