Lanza's murder of so many children and the adults who cared for them is incomprehensible and horrific to us. He was a deeply disturbed person, but our thoughts should not focus on him but the living - the ones who must now face the terrible task of forging on despite the loss of their loved ones. There is nothing more tragic than for a parent to lose a child, a brother to lose a sister, a husband to lose his wife, and to have so many lives erupt into tragedy at once is overwhelmingly horrific. Our minds and hearts lie with those now facing this nightmare, and I hope the collective warmth of a nation united against this senseless act may ease the burden the people of Newton face. Their tragedy is our tragedy.
