The shooting has affected many people even out in Arizona. I can't imagine the pain and grief that you all are going through at Newtown. Prayers go out to you all. Stay strong, have faith, and take heart.

Lanza's murder of so many children and the adults who cared for them is incomprehensible and horrific to us. He was a deeply disturbed person, but our thoughts should not focus on him but the living - the ones who must now face the terrible task of forging on despite the loss of their loved ones. There is nothing more tragic than for a parent to lose a child, a brother to lose a sister, a husband to lose his wife, and to have so many lives erupt into tragedy at once is overwhelmingly horrific. Our minds and hearts lie with those now facing this nightmare, and I hope the collective warmth of a nation united against this senseless act may ease the burden the people of Newton face. Their tragedy is our tragedy.

No words can truly capture the sheer horror of the terrible shooting at Sandy Hook, and no words can serve as anything near true consolation for the pain that the people of Newtown are going through. I can only imagine the pain that the family and friends of the Sandy Hook victims are currently suffering. My heart breaks for all the parents and families of these precious children that have been lost. Your beautiful children will never be forgotten. Sending love, compassion, and concern.

Dear Friends at Sandy Hook,

Absolutely nothing is worse than losing what you value the most -- whether it be a daughter, son, sister, brother, cousin, aunt, uncle, relative, friend, or friend of a friend -- it hurts a lot. Especially when you lose someone all of a sudden. Your young children were bright and beautiful. Your courageous teachers who risked their lives were loved.

Please know that your community is in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts. We love you, and as a nation, we want to let you know that we're here for you. Never lose hope... stay strong, Sandy Hook.

Love,

I still cannot grasp this horrific reality; even after watching, hearing, and reading about this horrific event, I cannot get myself to comprehend. Honestly, I will never understand the reason behind Lanza's thoughts, nor do I really want to know. The children had many years of fun, excitement, and adventures to look forward in their lives. The teachers had many years of sharing and teaching their experiences to the children.
I send my condolences to the families affected by this tragic event. Their memories and thoughts will forever be in our hearts.

To the affected families of Newtown,

Everything will be okay. Tragedies happen, but please stay together. The strength you all show as a community is both heartbreaking, and inspiring. Though things have been a struggle, your strength is commending.

I am humbly sorry for what has happened. Things like this are never foreseen. However, everything happens for a reason. May you exit this situation with love and peace. Hatred and evil are despicable things, but may you continue to share your love for one another.

'Tis the season they say for Christmas and Holiday cheer. I pray that you all may be strong in light of this event. Be strong Newtown, be strong.

Children, tell your parents you love them. And parents, hold your children close within your hearts.

With love,

A NJ Resident

When I heard about the shootings in Sandy Hook all I could feel was a sudden pang... An aching feel of a hole left by someone that suddenly disappears from your life. No warning, just a regular day when all of a sudden you get a call that says “He/She's never going to come back.” I know that feeling very well because the same has happened to me as of recently and... the world is going to seem bleak for a while. Like as if life can't go on. But I just want you to know that even though the ache won't ever truly go away, that your children will not be forgotten. They will be forever remembered in our hearts and even though this has been hard for all of us.. whether we knew them or not ... we will make sure that from the ashes of the sadness and pain of losing them, we will give life to help protect children everywhere in our country so that no one else can feel such a pain again.
Keep strong.

Hello citizens of Newtown!

I really can't imagine what you must be feeling right now. What happened on Dec 14th was an unbelievable tragedy... and honestly I can't find the right words to express myself.

I truly don't know what you're going through, so anything condolences/sympathies I express will likely fall short. But I do know that no matter what happens, you have to stay strong. Even if you can't find the motivation, and even if courage fails you, you have to stay strong. You might feel alone, but that's not true. You have your family and your friends, and even the rest of the world supporting you right now.

We're all here for you. I'm here for you. Remember that.

I am dreadfully sorry for what happened. I cannot think of words good enough to console you; I understand how terrible it is to lose someone loved in such a way. But please know that the whole nation shares your pain, and that you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. May all the victims rest in peace.

The losses you have endured have amounted to more than anyone could ever imagine. I know none of us will ever truly be able to understand what you have gone through, but I hope that you will remember that the pain and evil of this world are just that, part of this world. God made us to be in the world, but not of it, and I pray everyday that you all will remember that our God is greater and stronger than all the suffering and pain this world has to offer. You are always in our prayers and continue to inspire all of us here in New York with the incredible bravery and tenacity you all have shown in the wake of such a sickening time.
